Renovating all the Platforms

The Hatfield St Albans branch line had five stops between the main stations.

  • Lemsford Road Halt
  • Nast Hyde halt
  • Smallford Station
  • Hill End
  • Salvation Army Halt

The remains of all the platforms still exist and so the current proposal or suggestion is to renovate all of them, making a feature along the length of the Alban Way.

On each station would be a seating area and a historical plaque.  The hope is that this will be a collaborative project, working with other communities along the line and all works will be carried out in conjunction with Oaklands College and the Ground Work Trust.

A good example of what can be achieved, may be seen at the Old London Road Station as you can see from the photo below.
