Board of Directors and Company Secretaries 1862 – 1884

Board of Directors

Between 1862 and 1866 the board consisted of 7, with a Chairman and a Deputy Chairman. At a half-yearly Ordinary General Meeting, the number was reduced to 6. In the 1870s three of the members died, but were not replaced until 1882, when two new members were brought in. In 1883 the Great Northern Railway took over the Hatfield & St Albans Railway, thus removing the requirement for the Board, which remained in place until 1884 to tidy up the company’s affairs.
